Molecular sieves are synthetic crystalline aluminosilicates (zeolites) with a uniform pore structure.
They are primarily used as adsorbents and desiccants to remove water or other small molecules from gases and liquids.
They work by a process called adsorption, where molecules small enough to enter the uniform pores are trapped, while larger molecules are excluded.
